    Christmas Concerts

    The Hammersmith Christmas Concert will be on the 9th December and the Barnes Christmas Concert will be on the 4th December.

    This term

    Both choirs are in sync this term and run from w/c 9th September to w/c 9th December. Please note - No choir half term w/c 21st October.

    Tommy's Carol Concert

    Join the choir for the Kensington Tommy’s Children’s Carols, a candlelit service full of laughter, song and joy, a service where each reading will be pertinent for children and each carol one they can all sing their hearts out to.

    People be like...

    What kind of music do you sing?

    An accessible mix of contemporary, classical, folk, carols and so on.

    But I can’t read music. Or even sing especially well tbh.

    That doesn’t matter - very few of us can read music. It’s not about a perfect musical performance. It’s about an uplifting, life-affirming moment in an otherwise slightly banal week.

    Hmmm. You’re right that my existence has become a little predictable maybe. What are the other people there like?

    What time?

    Mondays at 7.30pm in Hammersmith; Wednesdays at 7.30pm in Barnes. We generally finish around 9pm. This term runs from w/c 9th September - w/c 9th December.

    Is there a charge?

    Your first week will be free to see if you enjoy it, after that it will around a tenner a session.

    On Monday 2nd December SingWest will be helping host a concert at St Marys’ Abbott Church, Kensington, W8 to raise money for Tommy’s charity.     We were invited to join the ENO chorus as backing singer to the incredible Lesley Garret and Bryn Terfel last in late October. The single is being released on 6th December watch this space for details.
    SingWest were invited to appear on Good Morning Britain and sing some Carols for the show. Tom, Chris, Nick and Tim were all amazing and stepped up at the last moment. They arrived at 5.30am and went straight on stage and performed unrehearsed but looking gorgeous.

    Daf

    Dafydd Evans

    Dafydd is a singer songwriter from Wales.

     

    He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and The Academy of Contemporary Music achieving a First Class BMus (Hons) degree in vocal performance.

     

    Having trained at both a conservatoire and contemporary academy he has a strong understanding of genres ranging from opera, music theatre to pop.

     

    Dafydd is also a former member of Only Men Aloud, with which he won BBC 1’s Last Choir Standing in 2008.

     

    Their debut album sold over 250,000 copies in the UK and their second album won Best Classical Album at the Classical Brit Awards in 2010.

     

    As part of the choir he has done numerous TV appearances, performed in many prestigious venues and toured extensively throughout the UK and the US.

    Charlie

    Charlotte Orr

    Charlie is a former advertising executive, music enthusiast and mother of three boys, Felix, George and Caspar.

     

    After graduating from Nottingham University, Charlie had a 15 year career in advertising, producing award winning campaigns for Sony, Orange and the BBC.

     

    After her third child, Charlie wanted to rekindle a love of music and singing. Having tried local choirs, she decided to start SingWest for people who wanted a more informal, fun format.

     

    Choir highlights so far have included performing with Gareth Malone at the Grenfell Tower Memorial Concert at Holland Park Opera.

     

    Charlie has a degree in Horticulture and has designed gardens throughout West London, as well as an award-winning hotel in the Cotswolds.

     

    She also teaches sport at St Peters school in Chiswick.

    Cian

    Cian Brennan-Gavin

    Cían is a classically trained Bass/baritone singer from Ireland.

     

    He is a graduate of both The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Guildford School of Acting.

     

    Cían is a former member of Only Men Aloud where he enjoying national success after winning BBC 1’s Last Choir Standing in 2008. Having sold well over 300,000 copies across 3 albums, in 2010 Cían won a Classical Brit Award for best album.

     

    Over his career Cían has shared performances with Juan Diego Florez, Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfel, Bonnie Tyler, Josh Groban, Brian May, Russell Watson, John Owen Jones & Shirley Bassey.

     

    Cían has also performed across numerous TV shows and events including Strictly Come dancing Christmas Special, the Olympic Torch Hand Over (The Royal Mall) & The Royal Variety Performance.
